Engaged, Now What?!

Engaged, Now What?!

Are you recently engaged and have no idea where to start planning? We hear you!

Wedding planning can seem overwhelming, especially when you want things to be PERFECT.

We could go on and on about this topic for days, however there is a lot to cover and we want you to get the ball rolling. Below, you will see the first (5) steps to take to get to get started on planning your special day.

DECIDING ON A BUDGET

We know talking about the dollars may be difficult however it is ABSOLUTELY necessary to understand the budget you wish to stay within so it is maximized and there are no surprises at the end.

Deciding on a budget will allow you to the break it down into your reception, attire, flowers & décor, music, photography & videography, favors & gifts, ceremony & site fee, stationary items, transportation and parking, and wedding rings.

PICKING A DATE FOR THE WEDDING

We recommend you start by thinking about what time of year you wish to have your wedding. Consider the weather and flights if you believe traveling will be necessary for your attendees. This will allow you to focus on a set of months and decide which you prefer.

CONSIDER HIRING A WEDDING PLANNER OR DAY OF COORDINATOR

Whether you wish to have guidance from the very start or closer to the day to wrap up the details – consider hiring a wedding planner or day of coordinator. These experts will negotiate contracts on your behalf to make sure you get a bang for your buck, not to mention they work with the venue the day of the wedding to make sure things are as planned. Whether floral arrangements are running late or a table is set in the wrong location, they know how to handle all scenarios and adjust accordingly while the bride/groom are enjoying themselves with their loved ones. They will save you time and allow you to be free from the responsibility of answering calls or texts that may be alarming to you – with a planner your day is stress-free.

HOW MANY PEOPLE YOU WOULD LIKE TO INVITE –

This is closely tied to your budget and very important because it is a number needed to book a venue. WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW – This number can be increased depending on your venue and caterer, however some venues a decrease from a contracted guest attendance would result attrition fees.

START A PINTEREST BOARD –

Create boards for each of the below and feel free to add more as you see items you like. This will create a vision board that will help pick out the details of the special day.

  • Bride

  • Groom Style

  • Cakes

  • Venue

  • Decor

  • Invitations/Save the Dates

  • Food & Beverage

Remember this is YOUR special day – Have fun with it!!
